Crypto fund manager questioned in fiancé’s death during Zanzibar trip

Joe McCann, founder of crypto investment firm Asymmetric, is being questioned by authorities in Tanzania following the alleged death of his fiancé, Ashly Robinson, during a trip to Zanzibar. Robinson, a Miami-based lifestyle creator also known as Ashlee Jenae, was found unresponsive on April 9 at the luxury resort Zuri Zanzibia. The couple had been celebrating Robinson's birthday and recent engagement. Police investigating Robinson's death confirmed a "misunderstanding" between the couple, but have withheld McCann's passport pending the results of Robinson's autopsy. Robinson's family has raised $50,000 through a GoFund Me page to help cover travel costs, arrangements, and unexpected expenses.
