The New Zealand Olympic Committee has stated it will apply the new International Olympic Committee (IOC) gender policy with "respect and care". New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, who competed in a gender category different from that of her birth, will no longer be eligible for the Tokyo Olympics. The French Olympic Committee also expressed concerns about the legality of the SRY tests, which would be illegal in France due to its strict bioethics law on genetic testing.
