Boston City Councilor Miniard Culpepper has called for the release of body camera footage showing the fatal shooting of 39-year-old Stephenson King. The officer, Officer Nicholas O'Malley, was arraigned a day after King was shot three times and was found by officers in Roxbury. The police claim that King, who was a suspect in a carjacking, tried to run the officers over, but the body camera video contradicts this claim. Culpeppers is pushing for transparency in order for trust in the police. The Black Community Information Center in Boston believes the shooting may have been racially motivated.
