Vin Diesel has spoken about the "weight" of completing the finale of Fast & Furious, which is set to be the last of the main series. The film was initially planned as a sequel to Fast X, but it took three years to reach its release date of March 17, 2028. Diesel credits Mike Lesslie, who will rewrite the Fast Forever script, for his knowledge of Fast's longevity and success. Despite a significant budget decrease, Diesel has promised a return to his roots in Los Angeles.
