Xionion's President, Lu Weibing, has revealed that the company plans to release a new smartphone processor chip every year and is also preparing to launch its own AI assistant for overseas markets. This move reflects Xiaomi's ambition to expand into more sophisticated areas of technology. The company's first chip product, the XRing O1, will debut in a device launched this year in China and will eventually feature in the phones sold overseas. Lu's comments differ from a previous statement by Xiaomi Vice President Xu Fei that the firm could not promise to release new SoC each year. The custom SoC would allow Xiaomi to tightly integrate its hardware with its software to differentiate from competitors' products.
