Indiana recruit Madi Wainwright, a junior catcher for Lake Central softball team, is known for her loud and vocal presence on the field. She was voted as team captain as a sophomore and a freshman last season, alongside then-senior Kate Renschen, who is a freshman at Northwestern. Despite splitting time behind the plate with Izzy Calinski, she took on the captain role despite being an underclassman. Wainswright is a captain again with senior Lexi Iwema and senior Tegan Tripp, a Virginia Tech recruit. She has also made an impact with her production, hitting.512 with two homers, 19 RBIs and four runs scored in 43 at-bats as a freshman and last season hit.348 with a homer, 17 RBIs, and 11 runs in 66 at-bat.
