Wesley Absher, the suspect in a Polk County murder-suicide, has died in the hospital. He allegedly shot dead 44-year-old man at a business near County Road T and 127th Road, just south of Shelby, and kidnapped a female victim who was also present at the business. She was taken to a farm where Absher assaulted her before he shot himself. The female victim was able to drive herself to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Osceola.
