Leonardo DiCaprio has urged his 60 million Instagram followers to protest against a bill to Dismantle the Endangered Species Act (ESA), which is currently the primary law protecting species in the US from extinction. DiCapri called on his fans to contact members of the U.S. House of Representatives to vote "no" on the bill. The ESA was signed into law over 50 years ago by Richard Nixon and is essential to maintaining functioning ecosystems. He also expressed his support for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election against Donald Trump, criticising him for ignoring climate change.
