Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia President Anna Paulson has expressed an open mind about the future of monetary policy amid high inflation. This comes after the Fed held its overnight interest rate range steady at between 3.5% and 3.75% amid inflation pressures above the Fed’s 2% target. Paulson stated that her primary focus is delivering 2% inflation while maintaining full employment. She supported the Fed's call to keep its target rate steady, but declined to provide guidance on where monetary policy should be heading. She noted that underlying inflation is around 2.4% to 2.8%, and that the job market has stabilized and inflation is too high.
