Apologies after 'farce' of Gallows Corner flyover repair delays

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that it will not meet the 30 April reopening date for the Gallows Corner flyover in east London due to further work by Essex & Suffolk Water (ESW). Work began on replacing the flyover and repairing the busy roundabout in March and was initially scheduled for reopening in September. However, progress has been marred by repeated delays. Havering's chief executive Andrew Blake-Herbert criticised ESW for underestimating the time it would take and failing to schedule adequate testing time for the new water pipes.
