A new Madden game mod, MODDEN 26, can simulate concussion symptoms such as blurred vision and slower reaction times in the game. The mod was developed with The Derek Sheely Foundation, a nonprofit named after a college football player who died from a head injury. The game is part of an effort to raise awareness of the risks of head injuries in contact sports. The release comes as more athletes are speaking out about the effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive brain disorder caused by repeated concussions. The modification can be downloaded now at Modden26.
