Charley Crockett has released a concept album, "Age of the Ram," featuring 20 tracks and a tale of a cattle rustler named Billy McLane. The record, which is titled "Old Red," features a rodeo tune written by Marty Robbins and a cowboy named "Billy McLane" who dies when they meet up. McLane is central to the record, providing an allegory for the music industry dynamics Crocket has avoided over his two-decade career. The 20-track album was produced by producer Shooter Jennings at Sunset Sound Studio 3 in Los Angeles. The first record is ahead to the second and third trilogies, with the first two being recorded in Lonesome Drifter and Dollar a Day.
