A common shower routine could be causing mold to grow in your bathroom, particularly in warm, damp, and humid environments like bathrooms. Experts suggest that changing the bathroom door before and after showers can significantly increase the amount of mold that grows in a bathroom. These changes can be made without a significant change to the routine. The Home Care and Cleaning Lab's resident scientist and executive director, Jennifer Forté, suggests that closing the door during and after a shower traps moisture, which encourages mold growth. She also recommends keeping the shower door open so the inside can air out, and using a shower curtain partly open to allow water to evaporate from the inside.
