Loredana Passariello, co-owner with husband Giovanni, won the Neapolitan division of the International Pizza Challenge, marking a landmark win for women in the pizza industry. This victory follows their 30-year partnership in pizza. Passariello, who used to be an accountant in Italy before moving to the U.S. and building La Leggenda Pizzeria with her husband, who holds a Guinness World Record. She competed in the International Food Challenge in Las Vegas on March 24 and won the pizza made with the same fermented dough recipe method she uses in the restaurant.
