Actress Ann-Margret was awarded a rare award for her years of service to America's USO. The award was presented at the Motion Picture Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library the day after her 85th birthday. This was only the second time the coin was ever given, and it was on the anniversary of the first given to Bob Hope on the 50th anniversary. The ceremony also coincided with 2026 also marking the 85th anniversary for the USO, which since founded in 1941 has been dedicated to strengthening the well-being of military personnel and their families. Ann-Gret has toured three times with the American National Guard and has made numerous bedside visits to veterans.
