After multiple delays, Denver has advanced its proposed shared scooter and e-bike program with Veo, which plans to deploy its fleet onto city streets. The deal was delayed due to concerns that it could disrupt service for low-income riders. If approved, Veo will pay the city $245 per permitted vehicle and generate roughly $2.2 million annually from its proposed 9,000-unit fleet. Riders will pay $1 to unlock a vehicle and 25 cents per minute, while income-qualified riders will receive a larger discount, including 60 free minutes per day, then 15 cents per hour after. The contract will overlap with the current agreement between Lime and Bird, which expires May 16, but there are concerns that this could disrupt work and essential services.
