Naoris Protocol has launched its quantum-resistant blockchain, designed to stay secure even against future quantum computers that could break modern day cryptography. The move comes as Bitcoin and Ethereum face the threat of a "quantum apocalypse," known as Q-Day, when future quantum machines could break the encryption securing most blockchains. The system uses post-quantum cryptography and algorithms approved by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology to protect accounts, transactions, and digital assets. While its quantum security is currently available only on its mainnet, it is designed to support wallets, exchanges, Layer 2 networks, and DeFi platforms in the future. The mainnet launched with an invite-only group of strategic participants operating the first validator nodes and form the network’s initial trust layer, laying a strong foundation for expansion.
