A dual degree program in San Antonio, Texas, is teaching students about artificial intelligence in medicine, helping them prepare for the next generation of doctors. The program includes lessons from the fundamentals of machine learning to the ethics of using AI in medicine. Students learn about the potential applications of the technology in health care, which is rapidly advancing in the field. Students such as Chris Mao, who is set to graduate in May from the dual degree, have shared their experiences with the program, including how AI helped in transforming one high-resolution image into a different modality, and how AI could help improve clinical judgment.
