Jon Favreau wants to "pull out all the stops" with the "level of spectacle" in The Mandalorian and Grogu to prove it's not "just the TV show" on a big screen

Director Jon Favreau is attempting to counter accusations that The Mandalorian and Grogu is just a big-screen TV episode. The film is set to be released on May 22 and features a "level of spectacle" that Favreau hopes will be showcased in a movie theater. The Mandalian, which chronicles the adventures of Din Djarin and the child formerly known as Baby Yoda, was announced during 2023's Star Wars Celebration. The movie will also feature Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.
