The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has identified Mt. Hood Community College as the latest measles exposure site in Oregon. The college's Gresham Campus Academic Center Building 17 was located between 10 a.m. and 1:50 p.m., according to OHA. Health officials are urging anyone with symptoms of measles to check with their health care provider if they are at risk of exposure. This follows other measles exposure sites at a Legacy GoHealth clinic in Oregon City and Centennial Middle School in Southeast Portland. The measles infection typically spreads through the air after a person with measles is exposed, with symptoms starting with a fever, cough, runny nose and red eyes, followed by a rash. The disease can be dangerous for children younger than 5, adults over 20, pregnant people, and those with weakened immune systems.
