High winds have caused widespread disruption across Northern Illinois, with a peak gust of 66 mph recorded in Chicago. A high wind warning remains in effect until 4 p.m. Meanwhile, over 21,000 ComEd customers are affected by the weather. The National Weather Service warns that damaging westerly winds will continue throughout the day.
