A U.S. District Court judge has delayed Luigi Mangione's federal trial by one month due to concerns that the delay could exacerbate his cult following. Mangione is also facing a state trial in New York over the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. His defense team raised concerns that his federal trial would overlap with the state trial. However, Judge Margaret Garnett agreed to the one-month delay. The prosecution argued that the federal trial should proceed as scheduled due to the growing popularity of Mangione among radical leftists who oppose the health insurance industry.
