German police have warned about fraudulent airline service hotlines, following a woman being scammed out of €2,500 ($2,920) while trying to rebook a flight disrupted by the Iran war. The State Criminal Police Office in Bavary has advised consumers to obtain hotline numbers from the official website of their booking portal or airline, rather than via paid search engine advertisements. The agency also suggested that booking changes should be made exclusively through official customer accounts.
