Des Moines Prep, a tuition-free public charter school, has proposed a new athletic field and park in Des Moines' East Village, which could provide shared outdoor space and support a more vibrant, connected neighborhood. The school is seeking to rezone three irregularly shaped parcels it already owns and uses for unpaved parking. The proposal includes a field, walking loop, bike parking, food truck space, landscaping, lighting, and stormwater improvements. If approved, the project will return for further site plan review.
