Donovan Mitchell, the Cleveland Cavaliers player, has been frustrated by his low free-throw tally in the playoffs, following a 111-101 loss to Detroit in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Despite numerous issues including 20 turnovers, a lack of early-game force, and continued offensive rebounding issues, he insists that free throws were not the primary reason for Cleveland's loss. Mitchell's comments follow a friend of Celtics star Jaylen Brown who was fined $50,000 for criticizing officials' actions in a Boston game about flops. Mitchell, who was averaging just 11.7 drives in the series opener, was also struggling to make a significant contribution to the team's scoring. Despite this, Mitchell insists he is not the sole reason for the loss.
