A 34-year-old New Smyrna Beach man was killed in a three-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Interstate 75, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The driver of the third vehicle, a Mustang, fled the scene but was eventually arrested. The crash occurred before 6:30 a.m. near Mile Marker 220 and left one person dead and another injured. The semi-truck overturned and came to a stop partially in the grass median, blocking all three southbound lanes. The dark-colored Mustang entered the center lane from the left, colliding with the front of an SUV. The impact caused the SUV to move over and enter the right lane, leading directly into the path of a semi. The FHP imposted the Mustang and placed it under arrest for vehicular homicide and leaving a crash scene involving death.
