Jack Brantley and Kyle Turner, two men from Accordionology in Decatur, Georgia, have decades of combined experience in repairing and restoring accordions. The business began 25 years ago with a friend gifted Brantly an accordion, which he reassembled and was fascinated by its complexity and quirkiness. Turner, a trained pianist, also fell in love with the instrument's vibrating sound and accessibility. The pair currently repair more than 25 accordions and use handmade tools, dental scrapers, and a stethoscope to find leaks and tears. They also sell imported accordions from Italy and France and regularly restores older accordions for resale.
