The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that there were 6,335 motorcyclists killed in traffic crashes in the U.S. in 2023, representing 15 percent of total highway fatalities. In California, 583 motorcyclist and 145 bicyclists were killed in 2020. Police advised motorists to always check mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes and always keep a safe distance from motorcycles. The final tip is to never drive/ride distracted or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
