Mets observations heading into first road trip

The Mets are set to embark on their first road trip of the season, which will see them face St. Louis and San Francisco. The team's performance was noted, with a strong response to the Pittsburgh Pirates' early runs. Manager Carlos Mendoza noted that this year's lineup is different, with veteran players like Marcus Semien and Jorge Polanco adding to the team already led by Francisco Lindor. Left-hander David Peterson has become more of a leader, an evolution that was evident over the past few seasons. Despite a decision to send Francisco Lander home in the 10th inning of Sunday's loss, the team owned the decision. The Mets will rely heavily on right-hander Luis Huobán and left-hander Richard Lovelady.
