Kansas City police are still waiting on federal funding for the World Cup security of the event, which is set to take place in Kansas City within 100 days of the match between Argentina and Algeria. The $59 million from FIFA's World Cup Grant program has not yet been allocated for the Kansas City region. Local law enforcement agencies are waiting on funds to keep people safe during the event and are working together to secure SIX World Cup matches at Arrowhead Stadium. The World Cup grant program is part of the FIFA Grant program to help with security. However, the funding for these events has not been provided. Local police and FIFA officials are working on a comprehensive plan to ensure safety and security for the upcoming World Cup.
