Cristian Pache, a 27-year-old center field player for the Mets, started in a game against the Nationals but is likely destined for Triple-A Syracuse. Pache developed his defensive skills under guidance from Andruw Jones, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer. He signed with the Braves in 2015 and will wear his No. 25 in the majors with Atlanta in 2021. After coming up through the minor league system, Pache got to work with Jones who was an instructor with Atlanta following his playing career. Despite his lack of playing in the major league, the Mets remain hopeful about Pache's potential in the future.
