'Terrifying': Self-Driving Tesla Crashes Through Barrier Moments Before Train

A Texas Tesla driver, Joshua Brown, said his car's autopilot accelerated through a lowered railroad gate, narrowly avoiding a train and damaging his car. Brown had been driving with the Full Self-Driving (FSD) engaged as he approached a level crossing. The incident occurred without warning and Brown said he was shocked to see the train approaching and the car pushed through the lowered gate. Brown was able to walk away unharmed and has over 40,000 self-driving miles under his belt. Despite its name, FSD doesn't mean fully autonomous and Tesla instructs drivers to remain alert.
