‘They said she was safe’: New podcast details the murder of Amanda Dean

A new podcast details the murder of 36-year-old mother of four Amanda Dean, who disappeared on July 11, 2017. Her family claims that the Huron County Sheriff’s Office told them she was safe and being taken care of. After more than five years of non-investigation, Cleveland Missing and Newburgh Heights Police Chief John Majoy started a full-blown investigation. Agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations eventually discovered that Reer had killed her, dismembered her, and burned her remains behind the cabin where they lived. With no body recovered, Reer pleaded guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
