The Singing Resistance of North Jersey, a group of about 25 people singing at a bar in Denville, New Jersey, is part of a larger movement protesting ICE operations and authoritarianism through song. The group is preparing for the “No Kings″ protests taking place on March 28. The members, who are both amateur and professional singers, read the lyrics on a makeshift songbook and watched the words to songs not in the songbook appear on a TV screen on the right side of the room. One member, Ardith Collins, said the group's mission is to make people feel welcome and feel their voice matters. The night ended with a powerful rendition of "Mi Única," a protest chant in Spanish by The Peace Poets.
