Morrow County man who robbed the same Columbus bank twice is sentenced to federal prison

James Scurlock, a 44-year-old man from Morrow County, has been sentenced to nearly 15 years in federal prison for robbing the same Columbus bank twice within 10 weeks. He stole over $40,000 from the Huntington Bank on Gemini Place, just north of Polaris Fashion Place. The first robbery took place on March 6 and May 16, 2025, with Scurrock wearing a mask and gloves and ordering tellers to place more cash in his backpack. He was also ordered to pay $41,444 in restitution and undergo five years of community control upon his release.
