Small businesses that successfully sued over Trump tariffs relaunch fight against new levies

The non-profit Liberty Justice Center, which successfully sued the Trump administration over its main tariffs, is filing a new lawsuit against the new levies imposed following his loss at the Supreme Court. The new complaint is filed at the US Court of International Trade on behalf of spice importer Burlap & Barrel and toy company Basic Fun. The lawsuit criticizes Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, which the group argues does not empower the executive branch to implement levies. The White House has pledged to vigorously defend the tariffs, citing their use to address fundamental international payments problems and address America's large and serious balance-of-payments deficits.
