Mexican jazz vocalist Lucía Gutiérrez Rebolloso, 24, has expressed her love for Sarah Vaughan as her favorite jazz singer. She won the 2022 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition due to her poised delivery and concept. Lucía's love of Vaughan is evident particularly on ballads. Her second album, "Lamento Jarocho," is a tribute to Mexican songwriter Agustín Lara and vocalist Toña la Negra. She will be performing on a series of California dates with Gabriel Chakarji, drummer Mark Ferber, bassist Hamish Smith, and Venezuelan pianist Gabriel Chakarji. The new material is part of a set of new material she'll be sharing on her California dates.
