The debut single of Lorde's debut single, "Royals," has been named part of YouTube's Billion Views Club. The song, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks in 2003, is the first song to achieve this feat and is the lead single from Lorde’s debut studio album, Pure Heroine. The video has been viewed 1 billion times on YouTube, making it Lorde the first time the song has achieved this feat. In the years since her debut, Lorde has released three Billboard 200 top five studio albums and one chart-to-date album. She also announced that her label contract with Universal Music Group expired last year and she is looking forward to starting over with a "clean slate".
