A fatal stabbing on the American Tobacco Trail in Durham has raised safety concerns. The incident occurred near Fayetteville and E. Pilot streets. The area has seen 14 homicides in the past year. Community advocate, Rachel Cordero, is working on an event about a mile away on Cornwallis Road aimed at discussing five key issues, including housing. The trail is now open and a crosswalk sign warns of dangers.
