The "Super Mario Galaxy Movie" is aiming for $175 million to $180 million in its first five days of release, surpassing its predecessor, 2023's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie". The film is set to debut in 4,000 North American theaters and is expected to generate at least $175m globally, bringing its global total to around $350 million to approximately $375 million. However, it will need to exceed the high end of projections to match the previous film's $204 million in domestic debut and $173 million overseas. The sequel, directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, cost $110 million to produce and features voices of Mario and Luigi.
