Heat wave fuels early wildfire fears for Colorado Springs

A hot March has raised concerns about worsening drought, increased wildfire risk, and lasting water stress in Colorado. The combination of an unusually dry winter and early spring temperatures could pose a significant threat. The El Paso County Sheriff's Department has banned all open fires as part of a stage II fire ban. The National Weather Service has issued a "critical fire condition" warning for El Paso.
