Google is reportedly considering adding ads to its Gemini app, following the release of its quarterly financials. The company's business chief, Philipp Schindler, stated that they believe that a format that works well in AI Mode could transfer successfully to the Gemini app. However, there are currently no ads in the standalone Gemini app for free users. OpenAI has already rolled out ads in ChatGPT for users on its free and $8-a-month Go plans. The ads are clearly marked as “sponsored” and have no impact on the responses received by the user.
