A recent study by researchers at the University of Science and Technology has found that exercise intensity may affect sleep quality significantly. The study tracked seven older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) over 14 days to determine how different exercise intensities affected their sleep. The research found that vigorous physical activity (think swimming or interval training) was linked to a decrease in sleep disruption, while light activity (like walking) showed a significant benefit. Moderate-intensity exercise showed no clear benefit. The findings suggest that both gentle movement and vigorous effort may be more beneficial for reducing nighttime disruptions than moderate cardio.
