Environmental advocates have expressed opposition to plans for a battery storage facility in Washington County that could harm wildlife. The Tualatin Riverkeepers estimate that the proposal would impact at least 85 species of birds in the project area. However, Washington County officials have approved a land use application for the new storage facility. The Bird Alliance of Oregon has also urged state leaders to support the project.
