Driver crashes onto airfield at Daytona Beach airport, tries to get into locked plane

A driver is in custody after he crashed his vehicle onto the airfield at Daytona Beach International Airport, Florida, and attempted to enter a locked plane. The incident occurred around 4:23 p.m. The driver was reportedly highly intoxicated and was interrupted by airport operations staff and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University security. He is being questioned by the Volusia Sheriff's Office and multiple charges are pending. The airport's operations are unaffected as the investigation continues.
