The Sands International Film Festival in Scotland opened its fifth edition, with John Carney's Musical Comedy ‘Power Ballad’ starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. This marks a new milestone for the Scottish event, which festival Director Ania Trzebiatowska highlighted in her opening speech. The film follows a relationship between Rick (Paul Rudd) and Danny (Jonas), a fading boy band star, who bond over music during a late-night jam session. Scottish musician Gary Clark composed the music for the film, which is currently on release in the U.S. and UK. The festival will also mount its signature “This Much I Know… series” where leading industry professionals discuss their current practice and contemporary marketplace.
