Fayetteville police captain, Tim Shepard, defeated Washington County Judge Patrick Deakins in the Republican primary runoff election. She will now face Democratic challenger Dana Deree in November. Meanwhile, State Sen. Kim Hammer won the Republican nomination for Arkansas secretary of state with 50.6% of the vote.
