A poll conducted after the US and Israel launched a major military operation against Iran, which has sparked regional retaliation, found a quarter of Americans support the US-Israeli attacks. The Reuters Ipsos poll was conducted before the administration announced that the first US troops had been killed in the conflict. Only one in four respondents approved of the attacks, and 45 percent said they would be less likely to support the campaign against Iran if it led to US troops being killed or injured. The findings could influence how the Trump administration moves forward and how lawmakers respond to the attacks ahead of the midterm elections. Despite Republican lawmakers largely aligning with President Donald Trump's stance on Iran, the conflict has threatened trade routes in the US area and has led to increased oil prices and potential instability for several companies.
