The United States has sanctioned a network of individuals accused of funneling billions of dollars to Iran via illicit oil sales. The sanctions are part of the Trump administration's Economic Fury policy to counterbalance Iran's main revenue source for military action and terrorism. This is the 12th round of sanctions on Iranian oil sales since National Security Presidential Memorandum-2 was issued in 2000.
