JPM Morgan Chase Bank has closed 16 branches in 2026, with the company planning to open more than 160 branches in 30 states and renovate 600 locations in the coming years. This follows a trend of fewer bank branches in the U.S. as banks consolidate to cut costs and consumers opt for online banking. Despite this, Chase Bank plans to expand its financial services nationwide as part of a growth strategy, which includes opening more branches and renovating 600 locations across the country. The bank has submitted 16 notifications of branch closures to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency since March 1, 2026. Despite these closures, Chase's overall growth has remained steady.
